If you are interested in hiking, mark your calendars for March 5th departing 11.30am from the Virgin Mary grotto at OMGC. The hike aims to summit Mt. Hollywood, it is 2.6 miles each way (total 5.2 miles), vertical gain about 1,100 feet, and I estimate that it will take us about 3 hours to return to OMGC. I attach a map of Griffith Park with the suggested route marked with arrows. The route: north on Vermont Ave., Boy Scout Trail, Griffith Observatory, Mt Hollywood Trail, Dante's View, summit of Mt. Hollywood. 

What to bring:

- Sunglasses
- Water (at least 700ml)
- Lunch
- Sunblock 
- Hiking shoes
