Congratulations, God has blessed you with an image of Himself. He will also give you the graces necessary to raise your child to grow in Wisdom, Age and Grace. Since you are the primary teachers for your child we realize that you have a great responsibility, and your parish is here to help you throughout the years ahead.
We look forward with you to the reception of the Sacrament of Baptism for your child. It is the beginning of your child’s faith journey, which will be strengthen through Catholic Education and your parental guidance in teaching the prayers, setting the example of weekly Mass attendance, and instilling a love for Christ and His Church.

As a requirement for baptism at Our Mother of Good Counsel Church, each godparent is to complete document, sign, obtain the signature their pastor with parish seal. Download required document by clicking on Required godparent form.
Children, who have reached the age of reason (7-8yrs) , will be enrolled in Faith Formation and Religious Education classes to prepare to receive the Easter Sacrament of Baptism. These children will also be eligible to receive their First Communion with the other children in their age level at the end of the academic year, although they may be eligible to receive the Sacrament of Baptism upon Easter.
Adolescents, who are attending high school (14-17 yrs), who request the Sacrament of Baptism will be enrolled in Faith Formation and Religious Education classes to prepare to receive the Sacraments of Initiation at Easter. These adolescents will be enrolled in the appropriate age level classes with students preparing to receive Confirmation.
