Members of the Augustinian religious order have staffed our perish here since its founding in 1925. Also we founded Villanova university which has become a basketball powerhouse. Here in California we have three parishes and two high schools, all founded in the 1920’s. Did you know that Martin Luther was an Augustinian when he left the church or that the ‘father of Genetics’ Gregor Mendal was an Augustinian scholar? Our initials are OSA but there are three other Augustinian religious communities one of which staffs our neighboring parish in Atwater, Christo Rey. Augustine wrote many books about God, the spiritual life and his conversion. I suggest reading two of his classics: the Confessions and The City of God. You will fine your heart is restless until it rests in Him.
